Dinner features Five Courses Perfectly Paired with Highly Acclaimed Wines of the World

Ruth’s Chris Steak House will host a “Top Rated Wines of the World Dinner” on October 18 at 97 locations across the nation. Top rated wines and spirits from around the globe that represent the best of their regions will be paired with courses inspired by each country. From New Zealand to Sonoma to Chile and Ireland, guests will spend an unforgettable evening exploring and enjoying the best of the best.

“The fifth dinner in our 50th Anniversary National Wine Dinner Series is a celebration of a generational commitment to excellence. The evening will pair some of the world’s top rated wines and spirits with a globally inspired five course meal. We invite you to come and enjoy the best of the best,” said Mike O’Donnell, Chairman, president and chief executive officer of Ruth’s Hospitality Group, Inc.

The featured “Top Rated Wines of the World Dinner” menu includes:

  • First Course - Aleppo Chili Seared Ahi Tuna with Pickled Cucumber Salad paired with Yealands Estate Single Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc – 90 Points, Wine Advocate, January 2015
  • Second Course - Roasted Wild Mushrooms with Creamy Blue Cheese Polenta paired with Au Contraire Pinot Noir – 91 Points, Wine Enthusiast and Editor’s Choice, December 2014
  • Third Course – Slow Roasted Pork Carnitas with Fresh Avocado and South American Corn Cake paired with Santa Rita Pehuén Carmenere – 92 Points, International Wine Cellar, May 2012
  • Fourth Course - Filet Mignon, Served Sizzling with Peppercorn Butter paired with Santa Rita Medalla Real Cabernet Sauvignon – 91 Points, James Suckling, August 2014. Accompaniments include: Roasted Brussels Sprouts and Mac and Cheese with Mild Green Chiles
  • Fifth Course – Irish Whiskey Cake with Espresso Whipped Cream and Butter Pecan Ice Cream paired with The Irishman Single Malt Irish Whiskey Manhattan – 93 points and Highly Recommended, 2014 Ultimate Spirits Challenge

About Yealands Estate Single Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc

Based in the Awatere Valley – the southernmost, coolest and driest of Marlborough’s growing regions – Yealands is one of only a handful of wineries around the world to be certified as carbon neutral and the first-ever to be certified from inception. About Au Contraire Pinot Noir

Au Contraire represents the first brand developed by Palm Bay International. While the Taub family has focused on imports in recent years, their roots in the wine business are in California. Au Contraire is an exciting return to these roots after traveling a decades-long journey around the world. “Au Contraire” is an expression often used by Palm Bay’s beloved company founder, David S. Taub, often preceded an insight that typically took a turn from conventional wisdom. Chairman and CEO Marc D. Taub fittingly adapted this expression to take Palm Bay into this new and unexpected direction… literally. Au Contraire, the first of the Taub Family Vineyards Selections, exemplifies a commitment to developing outstanding quality wine offerings in key California appellations. The wine is a blend of Sonoma Coast vineyards from Sebastopol, CA to the new Fort-Ross Seaview AVA overlooking the Pacific. The full spectrum of Pinot Noir clones are represented in this wine.

About Santa Rita Pehuén Carmenere

This superb wine is intense and deep with a rich crimson red color. Its complex bouquet of fresh black fruit and spice notes, signature to this variety, is elegantly combined with the characteristics given by the oak aging. Potent and concentrated while maintaining its elegance and richness, it is a flavorful and persistent wine with excellent aging potential.

About Santa Rita Medalla Real Cabernet Sauvignon

Heritage and enterprise are hallmarks of Santa Rita, one of Chile’s premier wine estates. Grapes for Santa Rita’s Medalla Real wines are hand-harvested at optimal ripeness from the estates best and oldest vines. Intense fruit and a judicious use of French oak in the Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay result in complex and concentrated wines that are simultaneously elegant and classical in style.

About The Irishman Single Malt Irish Whiskey

Produced from only the purest ingredients, The Irishman Whiskey reflects centuries of experience and passion, resulting in a truly authentic Irish spirit. The Irishman 12 Year Old Single Malt is a timeless Irish Malt which is matured in first fill, flame charred Bourbon barrels. Each year we will select only a handful of the best barrels, to make ‘the cut’ for our 12 Year Old. A maximum of 6000 bottles will be produced each year. Each bottle comes numbered by batch as a mark of quality and is non-chill filtered.
