Ruth’s Chris Steak House Spotlights Napa’s Finest, Caymus Vineyards, in Sixth TasteMaker Dinner of 2019 Leading

  • 9/30/19
WINTER PARK, Fla., Sept. 26, 2019 – This fall, Ruth’s Chris Steak House presents its sixth TasteMaker Dinner of 2019 with Caymus Vineyards, one of the most beloved family wineries in Napa Valley. Guests can gather over tables at Ruth’s Chris to experience the unique flavors of the specially curated fivecourse, New Orleans-inspired dinner, created to complement Caymus and other wines made by the Wagner family.

“As a nod to our New Orleans roots, we wanted to dive deep into the Ruth’s Chris signature flare for these five courses, which is why we picked traditional favorites like jambalaya and crispy prawn,” said Chef Abdiel Aleman, vice president of culinary development for Ruth's Chris Steak House. “We always love the opportunity to go back to Ruth’s Chris’ roots with New Orleans inspired dishes, and Caymus was the perfect wine pairing experience to do so.”

The dinner features menu items including prime Bolognese with bucatini and tomato basil, along with filet au poivre accompanied by braised baby eggplant and orange glazed honey carrots. The dinner also features jambalaya arancini with a red pepper coulis paired perfectly with an earthy Mer Soleil Pinot Noir. To top the dinner off, guests will also enjoy a decadent chocolate tart with fresh strawberry jam and a glass of Caymus-Suisun Grand Durif, a red wine with notes of blueberries, vanilla and earthy tones.

“We couldn’t be more excited to showcase five of our family-made wines during such an exceptional dining experience at Ruth’s Chris,” said Chuck Wagner, owner and winemaker of Caymus Vineyards. “Caymus Cabernet Sauvignon is our family’s flagship wine, and I hope that guests at this special dinner will enjoy its signature style – dark in color, with rich fruit, velvety tannins, and lush aromas and flavors, including cocoa, cassis and ripe dark berries. It would be hard to beat the pairings on this menu.”

The Wagners are hands-on farmers and winemakers, and their wines stand apart for their quality, just like the meals served at Ruth’s. The entrepreneurial spirits of both Ruth and the Wagners have allowed them to achieve the success they have today. The Wagner family’s wines are hallmarks on Ruth’s Chris’ wine list, including their famous Cabernet Sauvignon.
